Due to some high blood pressure readings over the last two weeks of pregnancy. I went into hospital on Friday and the doctors decided to induce me. Tom and I went into hospital 11am on Friday, got induced 12pm, and contractions started about 11pm.
I ended up asking for morphine at 2pm on Saturday, and got an epidural 6pm because baby was sat back-to-back. Paige’s heart rate was up and down, and we ended up having an emergency c-section 2am on Sunday as she wasn’t coping well.
We thought we’d drop you a message because – whilst I didn’t get to use the birthing pool or any of the other facilities due to the need to monitor Paige – the hypnobirthing came in really useful during the c-section. The midwives commented on how calm I was and Paige was throughout and following the delivery.
We found the course really helpful in the sense of having an understanding of what was going on, and being able to chose the interventions as they became necessary.
