Positive Emergency Caesarean Section

Positive Emergency Caesarean Section

We had a little boy last Friday, he was a whopping 10 pounds and does not fit any of the expensive newborn stuff I bought him. Hah! Maybe it’s a sign.

Was going to say I don’t have a particularly calm birth story to share… but it’s all good, we did our best and the breathing got me through the first couple of hours.. for us labour came on fast and strong and they sent me to Lancaster in the middle of a storm.

Hubby hadn’t driven in 18 months due to his hip pain so gear changing was a bit hairy and there were puddles all over the spot, not to mention the darkness etc. (but not much traffic at least!). Then baby was posterior or back to back so the pain of having to be seated was acute. So I was in a bit of distress when we arrived.

Then they couldn’t monitor him sufficiently and when they finally did I went straight under a general for an (code 1?) emergency section so both my husband and I missed the actual birth. But he’s here, we are both well and settled into life together. I also got excellent care at Lancaster – they sorted his tongue tie the same day!! – so in some ways I think it was just meant to be.
