I was induced at 41 weeks due to a slight increase in blood pressure. Unfortunately, my body reacted badly to the pessary and was put on IV fluids. Because of this we had a long (days!) labour but the breathing exercises we learned helped keep me grounded.
Inevitably I was put on the hormone drip to enable established labour. My little boy was finally delivered using forceps due to him being back-to-back. We were able to have skin to skin before I had to go to theatre due to issues with my placenta.
Throughout the labour although none of it went to plan and I had to have lots of medical interventions, Kerry’s course gave me the information to allow me to feel as in control and as calm as possible. Knowing what your body is doing and why is so important and invaluable to allow you to make the right decisions for you and baby!
